Nowadays, it is a hometown of more than 2900 people. The first written record is dated to 1298 under name Kelemeš. Dominant of the village is a Roman Catholic church of Virgin Marry’s Birth, which was built in 1806. During the reconstruction in 1968, they built another aisle to the church and today’s appearance was reached in the last reconstruction in 1993. On the front side of the church aisle is a dominating painting with a spectacle of Virgin Marry’s Birth. In local part of the village, called Šarišské Lúky, is a Greek Catholic temple of Saint Isaiah, which replaced the previous Jewish synagogue in 1999. The Municipal office, kindergarten and municipal library share the same building. Today’s appearance of the building was reached by reconstruction in 2002. In 1995, new sports facility was opened in the village. We can find there a football pitch, tennis-court and volleyball ground. In 2006, the the football pitch received a new fake turf. On Memorial Day of Saints Cyril and Methodius the village organizes cultural and sport "afternoon" since 1994. There are many folklore performances, games for children, football matches and another interesting attractions. The village has its own folklore and musical group called Kelemenske furmani. Apart from a Kindergarten, you can also find there a Primary school and Secondary Technical School of Forestry. The village can be divided into two parts. One represents the residential zone and second the industrial zone, in which operate more than 100 business entrepreneurs. To the he most important companies belong Kronospan, which produces flake boards; German company Hinrichs with its tailoring production; Stomex, which focuses on production of fatigue dress and footwear; Poľnonákup Šariš; Naceva; Sekal, a.o. In residential zone, they build not only family houses, but also large-scale residential constructions- for example neighbourhood Pod Hájom with modern houses. There are several services providing food and accommodation. Ľubotice is an attractive and dynamically developing village only thanks to its well-built infrastructure, geographic location and job opportunities.
