Rakovčík is picturesque village with up to 200 inhabitants. It is drowned in nice nature of Nízke Beskydy. The village is located on main road joining Giraltovce and Svidník. It was found by the village originator with farming settlers. First written mention of the village comes from 1572. In the past Rakovčík belonged to Makovica manor. In the period of II. World War one of the first partisan actions performed here. Religious dominant of Rakovčík is classicistic Greek Catholic cathedral built early in 19th century. Its original wooden tower is well-kept. The village has gas distribution system. Thanks to natural treasury all around Rakovčík the village is known hunting place. In its rural zone also hunt cottage is placed.
